State of the Studios Address Week of June 11th 2018 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Whether walking to busses, trams, or Friendship boats, guest now have new directional signs. Traditional Studios colored signs are located outside the Park’s main entrance. Two signs are erected near the tram departure loading area, while an additional sign is located across the outside Guest Services windows. Click the link below for full coverage.

Crews continue to make progress toward completion of the Park’s loading and unloading station. New maintenance stairs have been installed at both ends of the station. Likewise, workers have completed the structure’s roofing. Once final completion is achieved in the future, guests will enjoy a convenient gondola transportation system which will offer aerial views of the Disney landscape. Diners at the Market’s restaurants may notice the location’s tallest roof line peak shrouded in construction wrap. Refurbishment of this structure overlooking the seating area is currently underway. Since November 2017, Star Tours guests have enjoyed traveling exclusively to Jakku, Crait, and Batuu planets on this thrilling attraction. As of this week, all original planets and characters formerly featured on departures have returned and are now ready for immediate boarding. Frequent travelers of this attraction will once again thrill to the variety of adventures awaiting them on Star Tours. Click the link below for full coverage.

As the Park is in the midst of multi-year expansion to complete new guest adventures such as Toy Story Land, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vice President Phil Holmes is reaching out to visitors for their feedback. As detailed in a small “Welcome To Disney’s Hollywood Studios” flyer distributed at various quick service meal locations, guests are offered the opportunity to email Phil Holmes’ team with thoughts about their current Park visit, as well as any needs for assistance. Guests should take advantage of this feedback opportunity as the flyer commits that each guest message will be personally addressed.

Construction activity continues at various locations along the future guest vehicle direct entrance that will serve all parking areas. As pictured below, a new span is nearing completion adjacent to the existing exit lanes. Likewise, workers continue grading in preparation for future paving near the entrance intersection at Osceola Parkway. Expect this entire new entrance route to be completed by 2019. A new single building located at the main entrance to Toy Story Land is nearing completion. Previously obscured by construction wrap, this structure is now partially visible above construction walls to passing guests. With the metal roofing almost completed, the specific function of this entrance structure is yet to be identified. Fans of all ages are eagerly awaiting the grand opening of the Toy Story Land attraction later this month. Click below for full coverage.

Exclusive access to Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and the ever popular Toy Story Mania will be awaiting annual pass holders this September in Disney’s Toy Story Land. Eligible pass holders will receive an email event invitation with details for free  registration.

A quick Disney merchandise note for Stitch fans. A themed Stitch cap complete with ears and the mischievous character’s face on the front can be found in the Stage One Company Store near the Muppet Vision 3D exit.

Guest shoppers can select from a new variety of beverage mugs featuring their favorite Disney characters.  Popular Disney Characters from the 90’s are featured on attractive mugs with a white background and color ring trim. Choices include Ducktales with Scrooge McDuck, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, as well the beloved Dark Wing Duck. Also, Tail Spin Fans can have the images of Baloo and King Louie join them on their kitchen table with this colorful Tail Spin mug. The more contemporary  designs include the Frozen characters Elsa and the Snow Monster, an Edna Mode cup and saucer set, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, Tigger, Kanga and Roo, as well as a mug featuring the lovable character Eeyore. Stylish women’s apparel themed with Minnie Mouse awaits shoppers in Keystone Clothiers.  Minnie Mouse with Cinderella’s Castle in the background provides a classic design to women’s tee shirt selection. This character and her matching colored bows tastefully accent a pink accessory wallet. A decorative pink cap topped with Minnie Mouse ears and an autographed black brim is also available for shoppers. Additional Minnie Mouse accessories on these shelves include a coordinated handbag, journal, and scarf. Construction activity continues on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Photos below document ongoing work on a third mountain as well as continuing roof work.
