State of the Studios Address Week of September 10, 2018 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Additional concrete structure work for guest entrance and cueing at the Hollywood Studios Skyliner station is evident in the brand new photos below. Construction continues on and immediately around this location that will accommodate arriving and departing Disney character themed gondola vehicles. Once operational, guests will be able to travel overhead from the Park to locations including Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and EPCOT. Click the link below for full coverage.

Construction continues on the future guest vehicle entrance roadway and expanded parking. Recent paving is visible in photos below of the new general parking lot yet to open as well as the connecting roadways across from this area. The multi -booth vehicle ticket plaza structure has been painted in classic Hollywood Studios colors along with the individual attendant booths. Even the plaza lane open indicator lighting is also operating in preparation for the future grand opening of this new major entrance. Click the link below for full coverage.

Tree removal efforts are underway in the original guest tram arrival and departure area. This renovation is part of the overall plan to redesign the Park’s main entrance. Click the link below for full coverage.

Workers finalized the installation of large swing gates to cordon off the former Pixar Place guest area. This was the frequently used walkway to the Toy Story Mania stand by and Fast Pass entrances which have been subsequently relocated to the new Toy Story Land.  These new backstage gates are similar in design to those on Grand Avenue.

Tatooine Traders, the popular Star Wars shop at the exit of Star Tours attraction, is undergoing some refurbishment beginning today. The Droid factory and the Amazing Pictures areas will not be available to shoppers until the work is completed in mid-October 2018. Meanwhile, fans can shop the Droid factory in Star Wars Launch Bay as well as create a memorable photo in the Amazing Pictures found at Rock’n’Roller Coaster.

The Disney Junior Live On Stage is currently closed for refurbishment. When doors reopen later this Fall, guests will enjoy a new live sing and dance experience with some really cool Characters. The new Disney Junior Dance Party will enable young and old to sing and dance along as guest favorites like Doc McStuffins, Timon, and Vampirina as they perform tunes on stage from favorite Disney Junior shows. Hosted by the DJ and party host, this new Disney Junior Dance Party with extra-special friends will provide a thrilling experience. Disney’s Hollywood Studios guest Guidemap has a new cover image. The Toy Story Land theme continues with the Woody character greeting a young guest decked out in theme apparel.

Just in time for the Halloween season, guests can enjoy their hot buttered popcorn in a spooky black cauldron shaped bucket. Complete with a battery operated  multi-light flashing green lid with Mickey -faced bubbles on top, this collectable plastic container has a corresponding overflowing green glob Halloween face on the front side as pictured below. The cauldron’ backside has Happy Halloween in raised letters just below the overflowing green content. A Disney character themed shoulder strap is included with the characters in Halloween attire. This souvenir cauldron is now available topped off with delicious hot popcorn at various outdoor refreshment booths throughout the park for $15 including tax. After the popcorn is consumed, the container could delight a small child when collecting goodies on their trick or treat outing.

Construction crews continue to make progress on the Planet Batuu. Workers are completing additional metal structures as seen below in brand new photos. More exterior detail has been added to a main temple structure while crews have placed gypsum material on exterior surfaces. Click the link below for full coverage.
